At SplashSave, we believe in the power of community to create lasting change in water safety. Our community activation initiatives involve tailoring workshops to meet local needs, organizing engaging events, and forming strong partnerships with local organizations, schools, and government agencies. By working closely with community leaders and families, we ensure our programs are relevant and effective, fostering a shared responsibility for water safety. Through continuous support and collaboration, we empower communities to take proactive steps in preventing child drownings and promoting a culture of safety around water.

Through our cost-effective approach, we can reach a larger audience, making a significant difference in the community while remaining mindful of financial sustainability.

I’ve already seen my grandson, who is ADHD and Autistic improving Immensely. From no water confidence to actually now diving under the water.
I’ve enjoyed learning techniques that can save my children's lives. I just thought swimming was just boring but this is life saving.
It means that noboday is missing it, If the parents don’t come, they are the ones missing out for thier children. Its a lovely Community thing to do.

We had the privilege of connecting with participants in both English and Te Reo Māori. This allowed us to reach Whānau no matter what languages they may speak at home, so everyone has access to the essential life-saving skills of water safety and swimming, all made possible by the generous grant from Sport Southland.

It's really good having the parents take the lead, as they (kids) see us doing it and they are more likely to give it a go.
I am for sure going to teach the kids in my whanau the skills I have learned today.
I am happy there is programmes like this, it is my biggest fear to lose our babies in the water.
